ABITA SPRINGS, La.- Mike Strain, a Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine and State Representative from St. Tammany Parish announced today that U.S. Congressman Jim McCrery has joined his campaign to reform the Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
 

“It is time to reform the Department of Agriculture and Forestry.  It is time to build a stronger farming economy and restore integrity to an office that has been in a nearly 30 year downward spiral under Bob Odom’s reign,” said Strain. “I’m honored to announce that U.S. Congressman Jim McCrery, another reform minded, bold leader has joined my campaign.”

McCrery has agreed to host a fundraiser for Mike Strain in Shreveport on September 16th and issued the following statement in support of Mike’s campaign for Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry.

In a letter Congressman McCrery sent to his supporters, he wrote:

"Dr. Strain is the best opportunity to defeat Odom given the great support he has received all over our state.  This election is important to all of us who have a new vision of reform for Louisiana and for all who want new leadership to move our state forward."
